Lisa Adams, Breast Cancer blogger and 'Warrior' dies at 45

Lisa Bonchek Adams, who had a large online following for writing about her experience with Breast Cancer, died from the disease Friday at age 45.
Through her blog, tweets and Facebook posts, Adams wrote about everything from her diagnosis with metastatic disease to advice for others battling with Cancer.
More than 15,000 people followed her on Twitter, where she posted 176,000 tweets. People touched by her story filled social media over the weekend with remembrances.
New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where Adams was treated, has received more than $100,000 in donations thanks to Adams' online requests.
"She was as original as her tweets, clear-minded, warm-hearted, intelligent, succinct and generous," says Jody Schoger, who blogs about having metastatic breast cancer. "We have lost a true voice, a champion, and a friend."
Lisa arrived onto the national stage in January 2014 when Emma Keller, then a contributor to the Guardian, and Emma's’s husband Bill, writer at the New York Times, wrote a pair of bruising columns about her. Emma criticized Adams for over-sharing, and Bill suggested she give up on non-palliative treatments. Their devastating opinions created an uproar of the masses, and also brought forth sensitive issues relevant to detailing health information on the Internet, medical journalism and goals of cancer care.
